Alaskan Hardgear was founded in Fall 2007 with one main purpose: to create a new generation of performance work wear. Alaskan Hardgear is the culmination of professional experience and a mission to deliver a product that creates a new category of performance work wear. All products are built to shed snow, rain and wind while providing extreme abrasion resistance, warmth, unrestricted mobility and breathability.

 Alaskan Hardgear's products are designed with a shell fabric of abrasion resistant nylon with a Teflon water repellent coating bonded to either a 100 weight micro fleece backing or a 400 weight shearling fleece backing. The work wear line offers protection from the elements, provides warmth without weight, and is highly abrasion resistant. In addition, the products are extremely flexible, resulting in increased mobility and comfort. Every piece in the work wear line was developed for and tested against the rigors of the harsh Alaskan environment. Men and women wore the garments in a variety of demanding outdoor professions including work up on the North Slope of Alaska to commercial fishing vessels.
